چکیده
In the Mediterranean basin, agriculture and other forms of human land use have shaped environment since ancient times. Intensive extensive agricultural systems managed with a few cultured plant populations improved varieties are widespread reality in many countries. Despite this, historical cultural landscapes still exist interior less intensively rural areas. There, fruit tree survived modern cultivation systems, preserving unique genetic heritage. this study, we mapped characterized 106 living trees Basilicata region southern Italy. Tree ages were determined through ring measurements radiocarbon analyses. We uncovered some oldest scientifically dated world. The species olive (max age 680 ± 57 years), mulberry (647 66 chestnut (636 pear (467 89 years). These patriarchs hold resource; their preservation maintenance agamic propagation now promoted by Lucan Agency for Development Innovation Agriculture (ALSIA). Each also represents hub biodiversity conservation agrarian ecosystems: large architecture time persistence guarantee ecological niches micro-habitats suitable flora fauna significance.

Brazil is one of the most biodiversity rich countries in the world, including a wealth of agricultural biodiversity in both wild and cultivated forms. This is particularly noticeable in southern Brazil, home to a wide array of underutilized food species whose genetic diversity is maintained mostly by farmers through on-farm management practices. Farmers’ contribution in safeguarding and keeping...

Modeling Dormant Fruit Trees for Agricultural Automation
Dormant pruning of fruit trees is one of the most costly and labor-intensive activities in specialty crop production. We present a system which solves the first step in the process of automated pruning: accurately measuring and modeling the fruit trees. Our system employs a laser sensor to collect observations of fruit trees from multiple perspectives and uses these observations to measure para...

BACKGROUND Research was carried out into agricultural and domestic-handicraft uses in folk traditions in the Tyrrhenian sector of the Basilicata region (southern Italy), as it is typically representative of ethnobotanical applications in the Mediterranean area. From the point of view of furnishing a botanical support for the study of local "material culture" data was collected through field int...
متن کاملInvertebrate Biodiversity in Agricultural and Urban Headwater Streams: Implications for Conservation and Management
The urbanization of agricultural lands is currently one of the dominant patterns of land use change in developed countries. In the United States and parts of Europe, this has led to the implementation of agricultural land preservation programs and riparian protection and replanting efforts along urban streams. The ecological benefits of such programs for the conservation of freshwater biodivers...
